This is the thirty third issue of Skin Two LateXtra, the free fetish magazine - it's hard to believe we've been going for eleven years! This issue has Roxanne Dorrington's report on the world's biggest and best known fetish club, Torture Garden.
If you've been to a few fetish events - and if you are reading this, you probably have - it's fun to see TG through the eyes of a newcomer. Suffice it to say Roxanne had a good time. If you are also a fetish virgin and tempted to try out your local event, why not follow her lead and give it a go. You may be surprised to find that the fetish scene is noted for its friendly and inclusive atmosphere, so don't be shy. There's four pages of really top class fetish photography in this issue, by Peter Felix Kurtz, not to mention Dominatrix Shuffle, a photographic essay by Gérard Musy on the game of chance that is trying to find the perfect dominatrix. The models in the photos are some of Europe's top professional doms. Maybe you will recognise them... Our featured fetish stars include the one and only Dinah Might, headline act in Las Vegas and the Skin Two Rubber Ball and looking fabulous here in a latex catsuit.
Also, Latex Model, who specialises in total rubber enclosure. You will never see her face. That's a shame, as she's lovely - but she is always encased in rubber from head to toe. Gérard Musy's photographs of the Skin Two Rubber Ball are a unique take on fetish nights. There are photos from the German Fetish Ball at their new Hamburg venue - that's a super weekend trip from the UK - and also a report on Subversion by leading fetish blogger Jackson Rocco. There's a lot of fetish fiction out there, but most of it is a complete load of Barry White, I'm afraid. But sometimes - only sometimes - we discover someone special. So I'm particularly happy to bring you The Essay by Cherry Wray and see why nothing beats the erotic power of words in the hands of an expert.
I haven't been so excited since the day I discovered Pat Califia. Ms Wray is a real find - look out for her. What is it about transvestism? It's one of the few things the English are actually good at, but we like to keep it very much in the closet. There's nothing many of us blokes enjoy more than dragging up in high heels and fishnets and getting shagged by, er... another bloke. But a straightlooking bloke. Because when we're dressed, we're girls. We're not gay men at all. Obviously. Maybe it's starting to come out of the closet. A bit. Some wives are starting to come with their tranny husbands to underground clubs now. What's going on? A fascinated Jennifer Upton unravels this and has a fine time with the T-girls and their admirers at Sweet Wednesday, Britain's rudest club for trannies and the men who lust after them in the shadows. Well, someone has to do it.
The question I'm asked most constantly is “Where and when is the next Skin Two party?” The last Skin Two Rubber Ball in London was held at a fabulous historic private home, but we had major problems behind the scenes, after the owner was arrested and hauled off to prison just before the event. You couldn't make this up, as the last Skin Two staff member to join us after graduating from Oxford used to say, with a bemused shake of her head. So you won't be surprised to hear that we'll be using a new venue and a different promoter this time. Skin Two North in Leeds was great fun and we have some new plans and new partners for up North, too. Watch this space.
